Kate & Mike’s Winter Wonderland Wedding at the Four Seasons Hotel

Kate and Mike contacted Marissa Pedone Events less than 4 weeks before their wedding at The Four Seasons, desperately looking for additional help wrapping up the details and providing on-site coordination for their big day. Our first steps consisted of holding final meetings with their vendor team, where we finalized table counts, drop off items, and load in/break down logistics. First up would be of course the energetic and talented Lauren Dobish Photography, where we begin to tackle the production schedule for the day.

Getting ready with each of their wedding parties, Kate’s gift to groom Mike may go down as the best wedding gift in Marissa Pedone Events history. She got him a puppy! Seriously, a TRAINED puppy, named Bodie. His gift of a Cartier necklace was definitely a close second though.

The ceremony took place at St. Mary - St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Charlestown, where the couple are members of the congregation and attend services many Sundays. Wrapping up their Christmas season, the church was heavily decorated in lush and saturated white and red pointsettias. Guests were transported back to the hotel by Boston Chauffer, while the couple enjoyed a lap around the city in a white Rolls Royce.

Once arriving to cocktail hour, guests were greeted with champagne and wine, where a custom escort board created by Wall to Table Customization instructed them to “Set the Night on Fire”. The theme continued as the photo booth from B.Remembered opened, featuring firefighter helmets. (Hint hint - Mike is a fireman.)

It was then time for my personal favorite time of the night: BALLROOM REVERAL! The ridiculously talented Sydney Smith Designs executed bride Kate’s vision of a winter wonderland perfectly. Tall glass vases topped with full white bouquets lined the head table, where the wedding party sat infront of five gigantic snow-dusted trees, creating the perfect focal point for the evening. Laser cut acrylic names alerted guests of their seats, where they read menus created through Minted, to find out what they would be having for dinner (because let’s be honest, noone remembered what they RSVP’d requesting).

In what can be either an intimate or widely celebrated moment, Kate & Mike joined together for their cake cutting, with a gorgeously engraved cake knife and server which they had previously received as a wedding gift. They both behaved and politely fed one another a bite before exchanging the sweetest kiss.

The couple shared their first dance as husband and wife while family and friends gathered around the dancefloor. Starting off with a speech from the father of the bride, Kate’s Dad regaled us with fatherly anecdotes, keeping everyone laughing with stories from her childhood. MOH and Best Man held up their ends of the a bargain, sharing hilarious tales of Kate’s injuries throughout the years, and reminiscing on their own memories with the couple. (Side note: I’m considering this wedding a success if for no other reason than that the bride remained unharmed during the entire evening!)

For the final formalities of the evening, we typically see the beloved father-daughter and mother-son dances; But what about when it’s the MOB’s birthday? Surely that deserves a dance as well! And it was the perfect dance to open up the floor to guests, where Murray Hill Talent’s band Flipside kept the dancefloor packed for the rest of the evening.
